My research focuses on how tobacco regulatory science can be used to improve public health. In that regard, I study both the FDA’s regulation of all tobacco products, and how state and local governments can effectively minimize the negative effects tobacco use has on public health. More broadly, I study how governmental powers can be used to promote public health law broadly. I am currently working on a public health law text book, in which I have was the lead author for chapters on tobacco use, cannabis regulation, opioids, and policy making.
