My research program investigates learning, motivation, and decision making. I study human behavior as well as brain function, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate the neural mechanisms by which motivation and reward-related information influences learning and decision making. Some topics I study are learning from positive and negative feedback about performance, how effort costs influence learning and decision making, and prosocial versus self-orientated behavior.
