My work has been recognized nationally and internationally as providing leadership in the field of racial/ethnic minoritized women’s health disparities, contributing to clinical and scientific advances in the field of trauma and addictions treatment for urban women. I have extensive experience leading large, complex research projects, as well as small pilot projects with interdisciplinary co-investigators across institutions. The body of work has contributed to the evidence base on the treatment of trauma-related psychiatric disorders and their comorbidity. Two main related topics: What factors and mechanisms underlie the intergenerational transmission of violence? To what extent can we address these mechanisms through intervention?
