NeC-ROTAC Virtual Training: Rural Communities, Substance Use, and the Social Determinants of Health

March 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Hosted by the Northeast and Caribbean Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Center (NeC-ROTAC)

Nationwide, we continue to see an increase in substance use across communities. Rural communities have unique challenges regarding access to services, and other social determinants of health can impact the wellbeing of community members. This workshop will address this increase in substance use, including its overall impact in rural areas. We will discuss the wide range of social determinants of health which impact community members accessing resources. This workshop will also discuss the process of community assessment to determine how communities are impacted and how to access potential resources.

Presenter: Dr. Delores Blackwell, LCSW, is a multijurisdictional licensed clinical social worker. She has held numerous administrative and clinical positions within both the addictions and mental health disciplines.
