Advanced Clinical Skills for Working with Opioid Use Disorder

This recording of a previously held live webinar focuses on skill building among clinicians already proficient in treating Substance Use Disorder and who either want to learn psychological interventions specific to Opioid Use Disorder or hone their expertise in treating Opioid Use Disorder. This specialized training focuses on conceptual integration of psychological interventions for Opioid Use Disorder designed to enhance knowledge and skills specific to this population. Following a review of the interweaving of established treatments, there will be an extended case presentation. Much of the material’s source will be from the presenter’s 2019 book.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the gold standard of treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (Medication Assisted Treatment and Psychotherapy)
  • Compare treatment of Opioid Use Disorder to the treatment of other Substance Use Disorders
  • Utilize integrative medicine collaborations and teamwork in the treatment of patients with Opioid Use Disorder

Instructor: Kevin Moore, PsyD

Dr. Moore is the Director of Integrative Medicine at Crossroads Treatment Center and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. He has 20 years’ experience treating persons with opioid and other substance use disorders. He has established more than 15 substance abuse treatment programs, especially Office-Based Opioid Treatment programs that integrate mental health and primary care services. He has established the first HIV-specific IOP program in the Delaware Valley, TREE at Philadelphia FIGHT, and a Center of Excellence for Opioid Treatment, the Center for Integrative Medicine at AIDS Care Group.
