SUMMARY:Garden State Patient Safety Center's Virtual Safe Table - Neurobiology of Addiction
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a virtual Safe Table focused on the Neurobiology of Addiction.  This session explores the expanded fundamental model of addiction through a neurobiological lens. Participants will examine how addiction involves not only the hijacking of the brain’s reward pathways but also impairs executive function. In 2025\, the fundamental model has been expanded to include newer concepts such as motivational circuitry\, the anti-reward pathways\, and interoception. These 21st-century insights are transforming the treatment landscape for substance use and behavioral addictions.
