SUMMARY:From Pills to Fentanyl: Understanding the Opioid Crisis Webinar
DESCRIPTION:  \nThursday\, January 26\, 2023  @ 11am \nRegister for this free webinar: CLICK HERE \n\nDr. Lewis Nelson will examine the beginnings of the opioid crisis\, as well as the current state of the epidemic and efforts to stem opioid misuse\, overdoses and deaths. His presentation will cover the emergence of fentanyl in recent years.\n\n\nDr. Lewis Nelson became the inaugural chair of emergency medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2016. He is a board certified physician in emergency medicine\, medical toxicology and addiction medicine. Dr. Nelson attended SUNY Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn and performed his residency training at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. He previously served as the director of the fellowship in medical toxicology at New York University’s School of Medicine and as vice-chair for academic affairs in the department of emergency medicine.
